LOS ANGELES (AP) — George Tyndall, the former University of Southern California gynecologist charged with sexually assaulting students, has died.Tyndall’s lawyer Leonard Levine said Thursday that Tyndall was found dead in his home Wednesday.Tyndall was charged with sexually assaulting more than a dozen women at the university’s student health center.Tyndall worked at the prominent university for nearly three decades. The allegations against him first surfaced in 2018.His trial had not begun and he was out on bond. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles right winger Arthur Kaliyev was suspended for four games — two preseason and two regular season — without pay Thursday for kneeing Anaheim’s Chase De Leo.The incident occurred early in the second period during Tuesday’s preseason game in Los Angeles. Kaliyev was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for kneeing.Kaliyev will forfeit $9,314 under the NHL collective bargaining agreement based on his average annual salary. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.The 22-year-old had 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points in 56 games last season. A man in Miami Beach was arrested Wednesday after being accused of targeting two tourists in what police described as a sexual battery and robbery case. Thirty-nine-year-old Alejandro Yadir Gongora was charged with two counts of sexual battery with no serious personal injury and two counts of strong-arm robbery.On Thursday, Gongora appeared in court.“So he’s pretending to be a rideshare driver, picks up these two women, robs and assaults them,” Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer said. “No contact with the victims through social media or other electronic means, and you must stay at least 500 feet away from the victims, their homes, schools and place of employment at all times.”Gongora was given a $30,000 bond.According to Miami Beach Police, on Saturday, the two victims were leaving a club in the Wynwood area when they hailed for a driver to take them back to their hotel in Miami Beach. A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run. A school bus caught on fire on a busy South Florida highway.Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and safely evacuated students and staff that were on board, Thursday afternoon. A double shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade prompted a police investigation after two people were hospitalized. Miami Police Thursday morning confirmed there was a shooting at 1419 NW 69th Terrace.At the scene, one male was shot in the arm and was transported to the hospital in stable condition. According to Miami-Dade Police, they received a call at around 7:30 a.m. in regards to an unresponsive male who was on the sidewalk at Northwest 14th and 71st Street. Fire rescue transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.
